Moyashimon Review : Final Thoughts

“Moyashimon” is about a college student who can see bacteria/fungus with his naked eyes. He enters Tokyo Agriculture College and enjoys a campus life with strange professors and friends. It was written on the description page.

So I picked this anime up out of curiosity when exo said to watch it and a prominent figure on the internet made positive comments about it. Before I watched it, all exo had told me about it was, “Epic Trap.” Haha, oh those 2 simple yet deadly words. I indeed fell for it. Gah… I mean really… wtf was Yuuki doing. Well, he really is yaoi when you consider his conversation with Oikawa. Speaking of Oikawa, she was a decent character. She was like the stereotypical heroine model, but more fun with her chance yuri encounters.

Regarding Tadayasu. He seemed like a really bland character at first but he did have his moments. And then he got boring again. And then he owned the robot in the school festival… So I guess he was an alright character. Season 2: him and Haruka or him and Oikawa. Haha I’m really wishing for a season 2. Haruka was one of my favorite, if not my favorite character. Especially drunk Haruka. lol. So funny. And if my favorite character wasn’t Haruka, then it was… uhh. That other girl… with Noto Mamiko’s voice. Yeah she owns too.

All the jokes with the stinky stuff was pretty good. Surstromming or something… idk. Good laughs. Birds in my walrus stomach? It could happen to you.

Why can’t my school have spring festivals? Oh wait.. we got that one thing in April… But it’s 5000 times less awesome than that university’s festival. Trapped at school hitting people on the head with harisen. Should be a freakin pro sport or something.

Those little microbes were by far the best mascot characters ever. Good thing Anime convention’s coming up soon… I think. idk… Hawaii’s anime scene is pretty good, but not huge enough. Well, I gotta say that the convention did get better from previous years… sorta. It moved to the convention center, which is pretty good, I think. But the previous years had ddr and Soul Caliber and other anime/Japan related games. Last year was just like… Gears of War, Guilty Gear, broken gamecube. Fail. At least get a darn Melty Blood in there. Wait, too much digression. Getting back on topic: I hope that there’s like a Moyashimon keychain or something epic like that this year. exo’s brother, last year, bought a Core Drill from Gurren Lagann. I was surprised because it was so current.

So anyway, back to Moyashimon. The story was… good? The last main conflict of him losing his ability was kind of… a disheartening way to end. I got watery-eyed when he woke up the next morning and his name was written on the bread with mold. I kind of wanted the entire anime to be light-hearted and carefree, like how it is most of the time, but it kind of makes you think about your future too. But not really.

The comedy was really good and it made up for the lackluster drawings sometimes. Dare I say it? Was it funnier than Minami-ke? hmm… Minami-ke has a really slow pace to it, but it’s the same type of humor as Moyashimon.. sometimes. And other times it just was ridiculous:

“Ahh~ how much did you sweat today?”
“3 liters.”

So, conclusion: they were both… good. desu. I enjoyed both. I’m proud to say that I watched Moyashimon in 2 school days… and I still got good grades on my quizzes.

Kage:

Those who have achieved the title of Kage are the leaders of the five most powerful Hidden Villages and generally the most powerful ninja in their respective villages. There may be exceptions, however; for example, a ninja may be the most powerful at the time of being installed as Kage, but he will age and a more youthful ninja may become more powerful. A Kage may retire and give the title to someone else; the title, once granted, is held permanently. This creates a case where there are two Kage at the same time, with only one of them actually active -- as was with the Fourth Hokage and the Third Hokage, where the latter had given up the title to the former, only to come out of retirement when the former died. Their elite status is also attributed to the tendency for most Kage to have family members who were previous Kage, or be personally taught by a former Kage or student of a former Kage. Examples of this occurrence include Gaara, who succeeded his father as Kazekage; the Fourth Hokage, who was taught by the Third Hokage's student Jiraiya; Tsunade, granddaughter of the first Hokage, grandniece of the Second Hokage, and former student of the Third Hokage; and the Third Hokage who was taught by both the first Hokage and Second Hokage. The five Kage have different titles depending on their village. Those titles are: * Hokage Kage of Konohagakure. * Kazekage Kage of Sunagakure. * Mizukage Kage of Kirigakure. * Raikage Kage of Kumogakure. * Tsuchikage Kage of Iwagakure. The Kage stand equally with the rulers of their countries, oversee the activities of their villages, and are the leaders of ninja society. The anime introduced a sixth Kage, the Hoshikage (literally "Star Shadow") from Hoshigakure. However, this was a self-given title and not officially recognized by the five other villages. Orochimaru, founder and leader of Otogakure, is also referred to as Otokage by some fans, but this is not an official title, as Otogakure is not recognized by the five great Hidden Villages as an equal nor is Orochimaru actually a Kage, though his abilities are certainly on par with one.

Hashirama Senju was the First Hokage of Konoha village. He was the older brother of the Second Hokage, and the grandfather of Tsunade. In the era of war before the villages, he was quoted by madara Uchiha to be the greatest Shinobi of his time and the only man he had ever admired. As leader of the Senju Clan of the Forest, he formed an alliance with the leader of the Uchiha clan, Madara, in founding Konoha, and used his unique Mokuton abilities to create the village. The two founders ultimately disagreed on how to run the village, culminating in their battle at the Valley of the End, with Hashirama defeating Madara. After Hashirama's death, Orochimaru exhumed his body, extracted his DNA, and injected it into 60 test subjects in an attempt to replicate Mokuton. Yamato was the only test subject to survive, and as such was endowed with Hashirama's abilities. In later years, Orochimaru resurrects Hashirama and his brother to battle their former student, the Third Hokage. With the Third unable to defeat them in his old age, he seals away their souls, sentencing them to an eternity of continuous battle. In the Japanese anime he is voiced by Takayuki Sug? and in its English adaption he is voiced by Jamieson Price.

Second Hokage (Nidaime):

The Second Hokage was the younger brother of the First Hokage, making him the grand uncle of Tsunade. He was highly skilled in water jutsu, and could even perform them without a water source. He contributed greatly to the development of Konoha by establishing the Ninja Academy and many more of Konoha's systems and organizations. He died while fighting in the Ninja World War, after first having given his title of Hokage to his student, Sarutobi. The anime's Tea Country arc reveals that the Second possessed a valuable retractable energy sword called Raijin. Despite its appearance as an arc of lightning, the blade can be cracked and broken like a regular sword, as shown at the end of the arc. Decades after the Second's death, Orochimaru resurrects both him and the First to battle their former student, the Third Hokage. With the Third unable to defeat them in his old age, he seals away their souls, sentencing them to an eternity of continuous battle. In the Japanese anime he is voiced by Kenyu Horiuchi.

Third Hokage (Sandaime):

The Third Hokage and his former teammates, Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane, were students of the First Hokage and Second Hokage. Because of his surname, Sarutobi, the First and Second called him called him "Monkey". Later in his life he became the sensei of Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade, who would go on to become known as the "Legendary Three Ninja" . He also became the father of Asuma Sarutobi, and in later years the grandfather of Konohamaru. The Third was called The Professor due to his vast knowledge of jutsu, purportedly knowing all the jutsu within Konoha. During the only battle he is seen in he utilizes a number of attacks dealing with fire and earth; his fire-based jutsu deal with spitting streams of flames at opponents, while his earth-based attacks allow him to either create defensive walls or projectiles to launch at opponents. In addition to elemental attacks, he can use Technique Neutralize to prevent or stop an opponent's jutsu by exerting an equal amount of chakra. After throwing a shuriken at an opponent, he can use Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique to replicate it and sorround the opponent. The Third also has a personal summon: the monkey king, Enma, who can turn into a staff that the Third wields with great proficiency. Despite all of his abilities, the Third seems to have had some sense of lecherousness in him as he spends much of his free time talking to young girls. When Jiraiya was still his student, he offered to help Jiraiya test the jutsu that would allow the user to spy on naked women unnoticed. Even Jiraiya, in this instance, noted his sensei's perverted qualities. While Orochimaru was his student, the Third came to appreciate Orochimaru's natural talent and, after becoming Hokage, hoped to someday pass the title on to him. As he neared retirement, however, the Third realized that Orochimaru was only interested in the role of Hokage as a way to get power, and thus could not give him the role as village's protector. As such, the Third passed on the role of Hokage to one of Jiraiya's former students, the Fourth Hokage. After the Fourth's death the Third was forced to reassume the role of Hokage, at which point began investigating a number of disappearances within Konoha. Upon finding that Orochimaru was the source of the abductions, the Third was unable to bring himself to harm his favorite student, allowing Orochimaru to escape. Years later, Orochimaru invades Konoha in an attempt to kill his former master. To give the Third a similar privilege, Orochimaru resurrects the first two Hokages to do battle with him. After struggling to defeat the two former Kage the Third is able to use the Dead Demon Consuming seal to seal away the souls of his former masters. Although he attempts to do the same to Orochimaru, his age and the injuries he has received from the battle make it impossible. Doing what little he can and hoping to rectify his mistake of allowing Orochimaru to escape years earlier, the Third seals Orochimaru's arms to ensure that he will never again be able to use jutsu, a punishment for Orochimaru's obsession with power. With the village saved from Orochimaru, the Third dies with a smile on his face, death being the result of performing the sealing. During his battle with Orochimaru, the Third's likeness on the Hokage Monument cracked across the face. While the crack is fairly prominent due to its size, it doesn't always appear in the anime due either to a bad angle or a mistake by the animators. Later filler arcs try to address this discrepancy by filling up the crack, but the filling is revealed to consist of exploding tags and as such is removed. Masashi Kishimoto originally planned for the Third Hokage to be a dog, but eventually dumped the idea for being "too weird".

Fourth Hokage (Yondaime):

Minato Namikaze was the The Fourth Hokage, also known as "Konoha's Yellow Flash", and was the brave and immensely powerful ninja responsible for sealing the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox inside Naruto Uzumaki, an action that required him to sacrifice his life. After strongly hinting at the link throughout the series, it was eventually revealed that Minato was Naruto's father. He is said to be the greatest ninja Konoha had ever produced. Though his skills in combat go largely unwitnessed, he was considered dangerous enough that a flee-on-sight order was given in regards to him during the Third Ninja War. Before performing the seal on the demon fox, Minato said that he did not want Naruto to be viewed as the container of a monster, but as a hero who saved the village from annihilation. This request, however, was not honored by the villagers, who still held much resentment for the demon fox. Along with two other unknown Genin, he was a student of Jiraiya; he was the sensei of Kakashi Hatake, Obito Uchiha, and Rin. Minato created several distinctive techniques, including the Flying Thunder God Technique, which essentially allowed him to teleport to any location with the use of a special seal, or "jutsu formula". By attaching the seal to a kunai or an enemy, Minato could teleport to the location of the seal unnoticed, allowing him to wipe out nearby opponents almost instantly. He also created the Rasengan, a technique that does not rely on hand seals but instead uses a concentration of spinning chakra in one's palm that causes immense damage to its victim on contact. Later in the series it is revealed that technique is actually incomplete. Minato had planned to add his own nature manipulation training to the Rasengan, making it even more powerful, but couldn't manage to prior to his death.

Konoha's latest Hokage. Tsunade was the granddaughter of the First Hokage and was the student of the Third Hokage. She was one of the Three Legendary Sannins. At first she was reluctant to become the Fifth Hokage because her boyfriend and little brother both had dreams of becoming Hokage and died while trying to achieve this goal. When she met Naruto she thought that his dream of Hokage was stupid because of that, but his hard work and determination inspired her and she accepted the position of the 5th Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village.

Exam Results and Return from Europe

LOL !It might be VERY LATE to show my exam grades now. (Too lazy to comeback here) But at least they're all above 70. Plus, I just came back from Europe - Istanbul in Turkey, Vienna in Austria and Olomouc in Czech Republic. It was wild and fun since the UEFA Euro 2008 was on. It was so fun!!! I'll be posting my pics here sometime soon.

Exams are FINALLY Over!

YES!!! Exams are finally OVER!!! My confirmed results will come out, I think..... Next week. I think I did badly. LOL! Well, like I said, I will posts my results here next week, or tomorrow. Or the week after the next. Maximum will be at July.

The Day Before the Exam

Today (Sunday) is the day before the exam. Can't wait for THURSDAY. The LAST DAY of the EXAMS. Well, tomorrow is English Paper 2. Where there is the Booklet A and Booklet B and bla bla bla bla bla. I shan't go on with the details. I'll post my very depressing marks here after I get them. Hope you people will get better marks than me!

Friday - Today was not bad

Today was like not bad. Went to school late but made it in time. Came home and did modifications to my blog. Then played Dynasty Warriors. My father came back and gave me work. After doing work, I went to Taekwondo training. And came back. On the way, I bought some McDonald's. Bathed and now I'm writing this. So, it was okay today.

Orochimaru's Death

Being one of the Legendary Three Ninjas as well as a former member of Akatsuki, and hailed by his sensei Sarutobi as a natural genius, Orochimaru is a powerful ninja, being able to fight on an equal footing with a four-tailed demon fox form Naruto Uzumaki in Part II, and despite the danger Naruto imposes, he finds the battle highly entertaining. While he has only displayed a limited amount of techniques, it stands to reason that his efforts to learn all existing jutsu has made his array of abilities vast.

As a byproduct of his research to gain immortality, Orochimaru learned the forbidden technique Summoning: Impure World Resurrection (口寄せ・穢土転生, Kuchiyose: Edo Tensei, English "Summoning Jutsu: Reanimation"), which allows him to revive the dead.

Orochimaru has an apparent interest in snakes that, in addition to impacting the appearance and composition of his true form, has caused him to learn a number of snake-related abilities. One such ability is being able to summon giant snakes to fight alongside him in battle, made possible by the summoning contract tattooed to his left arm. Orochimaru can also call forth snakes from his sleeves and mouth to attack opponents in large numbers with poisonous bites. Another usage of snakes comes in the form of his Kusanagi Sword (草薙の剣, Kusanagi no Tsurugi).

Today was Exciting!

Wow... I studied from like 8 till 10. Or maybe, you just study as hard as me. Anyway, today I went for my brother's friend's party. We went to Bukit Batok Country Club and played the "Laser Quest" thing. It's actually like paintball only that you use lasers to hunt each other down. I heard the cost was like $150 per game. I played 3! LOL! Lucky I'm not paying. Hope I can go there again. Without paying!

Last Exam for THIS WEEK

Today was the last exam for this week. My Chinese Paper 1. I find it really hard. LOL! Most of the words I cannot understand. I think I got really bad marks. Came back and looked for that video and found the FLV converter, converted the video and uploaded it. By then it was about like 7pm? What about homework? Tomorrow do lah! Tomorrow is Labour Day! YAY! But more homework sia... ARGH! My dad gave me work to do. And then I'm writing this now. So, happy Labour Day!

To prevent the world from being destroyed, the demon has to be sealed and the only one who can do it is the shrine maiden Shion from the country of demons, who has two powers; one is sealing demons and the other is predicting the deaths of humans. This time Naruto’s mission is to guard Shion, but she predicts Naruto’s death. The only way to escape it, is to get away from Shion, which would leave her unguarded, then the demon, whose only goal is to kill Shion will do so, thus meaning the end of the world. Naruto decides to challenge this “prediction of death.”

Nothing Much Again

...Today is .... well boring as usual. Same old games, same old lessons... I feel very bored! No new animes to watch!!!!! ARGH! no way! I hope you all are having a better time than me. Sigh...

Yakitate !! Japan

Yeah! Yakitate !! Japan rocks! It's an anime about bread making! I know some of you or probably all of you don't like bread making huh? Well, this anime will change your mind! Theres more than meets the eye to this anime. Whether you read it in a manga or watch it online, it's the best anime ever! If I were a critic, I'll recomend it a 10/10!
